CA is proud to support Healthy Howard

Howard County government is now offering access to health care for up to 2,200 uninsured residents through Healthy Howard Access Plan. CA is proud to support this initiative and will offer special incentives to participants.

"CA supports the county's efforts to make health care accessible to as many Howard County residents as possible," Rob Goldman, vice president of Sport & Fitness at CA, said. "This is a natural fit for CA, as exercise is preventative medicine, and CA is the premier provider of sport and fitness facilities, programs, activities and services in Howard County."

Healthy Howard Access Plan is not a health insurance plan. It is a program that provides access to health care only in Howard County and is available only to eligible Howard County residents. Participants will work with a health coach to set goals and take steps to being healthier.

"Over time, we hope to demonstrate that providing access to comprehensive health services, combined with the support of a health coach and a health action plan, will indeed make a difference in the health status of our participants, as well as improve the community's health," said Ken Ulman, county executive. "If we succeed, we will be one step closer to creating a model public health community."

The plan offers comprehensive health care at an affordable monthly fee for residents ages 19-64 who have not had health insurance for a minimum of six months prior to the date of application. If you currently have health insurance or are eligible for other health care programs such as Medicare, Maryland Medicaid or the Primary Adult Care Program, the program is not for you.

The plan is designed to provide health care at a greatly reduced cost to participants who would not otherwise be able to afford or obtain health insurance. The costs range from $50 to $115.

The plan provides or facilitates access to primary care, specialists, urgent care, emergency room care, hospital care, diagnostic and lab tests, mental health care, substance abuse treatment and prescription drugs.
