Cupcakes for Claudia
 This juried theme show is sponsored by Columbia Art Center Galleries and Howard County Tourism & Promotion’s Blossoms of Hope. The show celebrates and honors the courageous journey of those coping with cancer. Its goal is to raise awareness about and funds for the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center which provides resources to people diagnosed with cancer and helps them navigate through the decisions they face during their treatments. The exhibited works of more than 40 artists reflect, incorporate, or are inspired by theme of Cupcake. A gala reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, April 16, from 6-8pm. Other features of the April exhibition include a Haiku workshop on the theme of “Cupcake” on Saturday, April 17, from 9:30am-noon with local poet Tim Singleton. An Open Mic Night featuring poets, singers, and artists will run on Wednesday, April 14, at 6:30pm.
