CA Middle School and Teen Advisory Committees seeking new members

The Columbia Association (CA) is recruiting youth ages 11 to 19 to become members of CA’s Middle School and Teen Advisory Committees. The committees are looking for teens who want to make a difference, get involved in their community and be an integral part of the solution – all the while having fun and making new friends. As members of the committee, teens can create and implement events and programs for their peers. Past activities have included Teen Idol Competition, Teen Role Model Competition, Battle of the Dance, charity fundraisers, Teen Tuesdays concerts at the lakefront, a free college fair, Save the Planet Day, dances and more.

The CA Teen Advisory Committee was formed in 2004. CA residents ages 13 to 19 are eligible to apply for participation. Members must attend meetings every other Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30pm at CA Headquarters.

Based upon the response to the Teen Advisory Committee and recognizing the need for a committee geared toward younger teens, CA formed the Middle School Advisory Committee in 2006. CA residents ages 11 to 13 are eligible for participation. Members must attend meetings once a month on a Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30pm at CA Headquarters.
