Pizza bagels

Pizza bagels are a quick, delicious way to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters, and parents can enjoy them too! Make them with only three ingredients, or go crazy and add as many toppings as you can pile on a bagel. To make the bagel a little healthier, try whole wheat bagels, or bagel thins. You can also substitute low-fat cheese, sauce and toppings to lighten up this snack even more!





Ingredients

  • 1 bagel
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni, green peppers, olives, basil or any other of your favorite pizza toppings
  • Cookie sheet
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line your cookie sheet with aluminum foil. You can also make these treats in a toaster oven or the microwave.
  2. Slice the bagel in half. If you’re making the pizza bagel in the microwave, it helps to toast the bagel beforehand so that it’s crispy.
  3. Spread even amounts of tomato sauce on each half of the bagel.
  4. Sprinkle cheese over each bagel.
  5. Add your favorite pizza toppings.
  6. Place both halves on the cookie sheet.
  7. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese melts.
