Family Get Together: Friday, September 24, from 7-9pm at Columbia Gym. Ages 4 to 10. Calling all Moms and Dads – come and enjoy a special evening with your children. End of Summer Sundae Making: Friday, September 24, from 7-8pm at Amherst House. All-you-can-eat sundaes for $2.50 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Information: 410-381-9600.

Dia de la Familia: Saturday, September 25, from noon-3pm at Columbia SportsPark. This free event is held annually in commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Come out for an afternoon of food, music, games and salsa-dancing competition. Information: 410-715-3104.

This month at the Howard County Library

Grandparents Day: Wednesday, September 8, at 10:15 and 11:30am at Howard County Central Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Pkwy. Celebrate grandparents with stories, songs and a craft.
